After some tarmac delays, some ferocious turbulence (which felt like a free-style rollercoaster...if you're into that kind of thing), and some questionable airplane food, the whole group is together here in Tel-Aviv. The airport was shrouded in fog, so we didn't get to see much on our ride to the hotel. Dave Horn lost his voice (which is throwing us all a curveball), and our tour guide Uri already seems to be a wealth of knowledge and passion for Israel. And don't fall for his shenanigans: his English is impeccable and he understands everything.
We ate a meal together in the dining room of the Kfar Maccabiah Hotel, as its walls were battered with wild gusts of wind. There is plenty of hummus to be had here. Dessert consisted of about seventeen variations of tiramisu. No complaints were heard.
Given that we're seven hours ahead of EST, we'll probably all wake up at four AM tomorrow...but then it's off to Caesarea, Mt. Carmel, Megiddo, Nazareth, and Cana!
Brush up. There will be much to report.
So excited to follow along ! Have fun !
